GLITCH ART V1 2005

VIERTEL 2 2005

04 MAY
Nearly got all my prints done now for Saturday's exhibition
called Glitch:Aesthetics.

You'll be glad to know that TV interference, computer memory
and forbidden data from top-secret computer files will be featuring.
Plus a special one-off computer visuals (circa 1982) installation!

03 MAY
These frequencies only exist inside the computer's
memory. Older memories harden and move towards the
center. Brighter colours have greater energy and can
escape more easily, corrupting the surface-dwelling
young memories. So why did the sky seem bluer when you
were young?

Nick Kilroy

Just found out the sad news yesterday. I remember Nick
as being hyper-enthusiastic about music (he founded the
record label KIN after working at Warp records),
photography (Zabriskie Point) and film.
He co-organised Plug and Play events in London,
which is where I first met him, in December 2002. We
collaborated on some visuals some months later - Nick was
very perfectionist, we had all this stuff spread out over
his lounge floor, and it took ages to video (to the apparent
annoyance of his girlfriend!) Then we drove through London,
I was shattered, but Nick was still keyed-up and yabbering
about music, art, visuals...! RIP.

The tilte of autechre's new record is untitled.

The hares hop around, oblivious, underneath the command line.

17 APRIL
My Gästebuch's gone critical mass! Now people are just
recycling other people's old comments. The precious moments
and cranes circling overhead have resurfaced. Still, it's a
nice sentiment. I give you a line of text to express yourself.
That's the system at hand.

Push the button.

08 APRIL
Found a little text file with a note to myself about
some psychotic weirdness that happened in my brain
on 25th January this year, whilst listening to the
Talk Sport radio channel on my squidgital radiogramme:

Talk Sport 22.56 James Whale, sound failed for 2 mins.
    Thought London had been nuked.
    But then normal service resumed.

It's not supposed to be funny. Just take pity. Donate a limb to charity.

Busy x100 working on prints. Please understand that I'm trying
to go from little hand-sized prints to something more large-format
and exhibitable without overt embarrassment and covert ridicule.
All new work is going into this effort, so nothing new to see here.
Move along please. Don't look at the car accident. Keep both hands
on the wheel at 10 to 2, unless you're a digital one. Look
straight ahead and don't do anything unless the government provides
a tax break on doing it.
